Sweet Mary Jane

This is my finished but unblocked Sweet Mary Jane Cardigan.

I have problems with blocking. Its not that I don't want to block it, its that I have nowhere to do it. I can't pin it to a bed because we all have waterbeds. I can't pin it onto a rug because we have 2 cats and a dog, and no unused bedrooms. Usually I just lay things out in the bottom of the tub, but I can't stretch out the lace this way. So for now, it will sit while I try to think of something. I like how it turned out, but won't know for sure on the fit until it is all blocked out.

Jitterbug Hourglass Eyelet Socks

These are a version of my own Hourglass Eyelet Socks that are done in Colinette Jitterbug. I absolutely LOVE this yarn. Because the Jitterbug is a little thicker than most sock yarns, and because it has a smaller yardage, I made a few minor modifications to the original pattern:

Jitterbug Hourglass Eyelet Socks:

Size: The first change I made was with the sizing. I normally would have made the larger size, but I made the medium instead. The finished circumference for the medium in Jitterbug is 7.5 inches.

Materials: 1 Colinette Jitterbug (100% merino wool; 267 m per 100 gm skein), color: Velvet Plum

Leg: Work only 5 full pattern repeats of the Hourglass Eyelet pattern. Piece will measure approximately 3 1/2 inches.

Everything else in the pattern is worked the same as the original. A link to the pattern is on my sidebar. I really love the way this yarn and pattern work together. Good luck if you decide to try it and show me how they turned out. For anyone on Ravelry (If not, go there NOW), my name there is cindysknits.

Thelonious Sock

I haven't blogged for a while since my daughter stole her camera back from me. No sense in posting if there aren't any good pictures to post.

Here is the first Thelonious sock finished. Unfortunately, I have only the one done. Too many other things in the works at the moment, and the pattern requires a lot of chart reading that I haven't had the time and energy to do at the moment. I LOVE the pattern, it just requires more concentration than I have at the moment. As you can see though, it is well worth the effort.

Pattern: Thelonious Socks by Cookie A

Yarn: Claudia Handpainted in Honey colorway

School is out for me and for my daughters, so hopefully I will get to the second one soon.
